In this 38-minute session, Pete Clarke demonstrates advanced 100NL cash game strategy by combining GTO theory with exploitative play. He explains his decision-making process in real-time, covering bet sizing selection, range construction, hand reading techniques, and how to identify and exploit common player tendencies at this stake level.
Pete uses theory as a backdrop while making exploitative decisions. He stays relaxed, uses simple thinking, and scans for spots where opponents deviate from optimal play.
Strategic Framework:
- Theory meets exploits - Use GTO as your baseline. Then look for spots where opponents make mistakes. Don't try to win every pot.
- Bet sizing toolkit - Deploy B1 (one big blind) on high-card textures where villain connects. Use B200 (2x pot) when you have nut advantage on dry boards.
- Hand reading across texture - Track villain's action sequence as the board develops. Notice timing tells and how they react to texture changes.
- Value range construction - Always ask what you're building around for value. Your bluffs are passengers. Your value hands are drivers.
- Polarization awareness - When villain's range is polarized, they often overbluff because they lack proper value combos for their line.
- Recreational player tells - Fast river checks usually mean no showdown value. Half pot twice often signals a weak merge range.
- Mental game approach - Stay relaxed and focused. Let curiosity flow. Don't play scrunched up in a ball of desire to win every pot.
