Daniel Dvoress Secures Fourth Triton Title and $849,000

Canadian poker star Daniel Dvoress won the inaugural event of the 2026 Triton Super High Roller Series Montenegro, presented by CoinPoker. 

This victory adds another title to his impressive poker resume.

The Canadian battled a field of 146 entries to win $849,000 and a fourth Triton title.

Dvoress is one of Triton's best players and has won over $55.6 million in live events.

This past weekend, the top poker players from around the globe gathered at the Maestral Resort in Sveti Stefan Budva, Montenegro, to battle for the championship title and prize money.

Dvoress is among sixteen players who have won four or more Triton Tour titles. 

Dvoress Finally Gets a No-Limit Hold’em Triton Win

After emerging victorious in this event, Dvoress shared how special it was for him because it marked the first time he had won a Triton title in no-limit hold’em.

Although widely recognized as a no-limit hold'em player, his previous three Triton titles had all come in short deck and pot-limit Omaha events.

Dvoress also added that he had not been playing short deck or pot-limit Omaha for very long and therefore, winning a Triton no-limit hold'em title for the first time felt a lot more exciting.

So far this year, Dvoress has already won at the $100,000 Short Deck tournament in Triton Jeju in March, as well as two €25,000 High Roller events on the European Poker Tour.

Huge Prize Pool Draws Poker’s Biggest Names

The recent big attendance at Montenegro's event resulted in creating a total prize pool of $3,649,997 that will go to the top 23 finishers.

Many top names managed to have long runs but unfortunately could not make it to the final table.

Some of those who cashed were Espen Jorstad (23rd), Christopher Nguyen (22nd), Mikita Badziakouski (18th) & Mehdi Chaoui (14th).

By the time the tournament reached the final nine players, Dejan Kaladjurdjevic from Montenegro held the chip lead.

Ben Tollerene was the first player to be eliminated from the final table after he went all-in holding  against Paul Phua’s  .

The board fell , giving Phua a pair, and he eliminated Ben Tollerene from the tournament in ninth place.

Tollerene took home $85,000 for his efforts.

Danilo Velasevic was the next player to exit shortly after.

He finished in eighth place when his  went against Kaladjurdjevic's  and did not improve.

Danilo finished his deep run with $106,000.

The next three players were eliminated during a hand between Dvoress and Mikhail Soltanov, who was playing in Triton for the first time.

Dvoress flopped the top set against Soltanov, who had only a bottom pair, forcing him out in seventh place and earning him $145,000 for his efforts.

Final Table Action Intensifies

The eliminations kept coming; Fabian Niederreiter was eliminated in sixth place. 

Niederreiter had , but he was up against the  of Ding Biao from China.

Four hearts fell on the table, giving Ding a flush and sending Niederreiter home with $195,000. 

Despite that knockout, Ding would soon lose to Dvoress in dramatic fashion. 

Ding had  on a  board when he pushed his entire stack against Dvoress after Dvoress had applied pressure to Ding during the hand.

After Dvoress called, he revealed  and began the hand by flopping trips, finishing with a full house on the river, which gave Ding a fifth-place finish for $252,000.

Samuel Mullur now had a chance to make his push against Kaladjurdjevic for the next major hand following Ding's exit. 

Mullur held  , while Kaladjurdjevic held  after the flop, which came .

Kaladjurdjevic continued barrelling and went all in on the turn. Mullur called and was eliminated in fourth place with a payout of $314,000.

Paul Phua Falls Just Short of Another Triton Trophy

After a lengthy battle, Triton co-founder Paul Phua fell in third place, losing his chance of capturing his third title on the tour.

Phua was defending his big blind with  when he went all-in after his opponent, Kaladjurdjevic, bet with   following the flop of .

The  fell on the turn, and Kaladjurdjevic needed a jack to stay in the hand, which came at , giving him a straight and eliminating Phua. 

Phua took home $384,000 for third place, bringing his total career winnings to approximately $38.6 million.

Dvoress Closes Out the Victory in Heads-Up Play

Dvoress opened with a chip advantage and increased it from there. He took over the match quickly.

Dvoress limped with , Kaladjurdjevic checked with , and the flop fell , giving Kaladjurdjevic top pair and Dvoress an open-ended straight draw.

Dvoress made a continuation bet, and Kaladjurdjevic called it. 

The  fell on the turn, giving Dvoress the straight. He still had action on the hand from Kaladjurdjevic. 

The river was , giving Kaladjurdjevic trips; he thought he had the winning hand, and he went all-in.

Dvoress called quickly, flipped over the straight, and won the title.

Kaladjurdjevic took home $575,000 as a runner-up, and Dvoress took home his second Triton trophy and his place in the elite ranks of tournament players.
