Sammy Farha, who is one of the most familiar faces in poker television in the 2000s, has been accused of assaulting a dealer in the Houston Social Cardroom in Texas.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident took place at approximately 3:30 a.m. on October 22nd while a Pot Limit Omaha cash game was going on.

The dealer Doug Caillier awarded a pot to the winning player after the two players had agreed to run the turn and river twice.

Farha, who was not involved in the hand, allegedly accused Caillier of the failure of delivering the cards to the losing player properly.

It was reported that the argument turned into an altercation when Farha allegedly tried to punch Caillier in the chest and slapped him.

Following the altercation, Caillier sustained minor injury that required hospitalization before lodging the police report.

Houston Social has banned Farha for life after this incident.

On the 26th of October PokerNews released the video footage that reportedly captures the fight.

This is not the first time Farha has been involved in an altercation at the poker tables.

Back in December 2021, Farha was involved in a physical confrontation in the Legends Poker Room.

The fight escalated, and the dealer slapped Farha and pinned him against a wall before they were separated.

Farha became famous from shows like High Stakes Poker, where he was trading seven-figure pots with other players.

He finished second place in the 2003 World Series of Poker Main Event after losing heads-up to Chris Moneymaker.

Poker professional Lynne Ji has been charged with attempted murder following an alleged stabbing of her fellow poker player and on-and-off boyfriend, Kevin Gao.

Ji, who has made an appearance on “Hustler Casino Live” and “Poker After Dark," was arrested on October 10 in Los Angeles.

She was released a day later after she posted a $1 million bond.

In an interview with Doug Polk posted on October 22, Gao spoke about what happened.

According to Gao, what started as an argument escalated into a fight with Ji stabbing him with a kitchen knife, resulting in a deep wound on his shoulder.

He refuted Ji's statement to the police that he inflicted the injury on himself.

Ji has denied the charges and expressed her will to prove her innocence in court on her X account.

The case is still ongoing, and any allegations by both sides are yet to be put to the test in court.

Sean Winter concluded the Poker Masters tournament in 2026 in style by winning the last tournament of the series.

Winter took down the $51,000 No-Limit Hold'em event and took home the title and a $620,000 cash prize.

The entire tournament happened at the PokerGO Studio, Las Vegas.

The event attracted a total of 31 entries, creating a total prize pool of $1.55 million, and only five players made it to the money.

Winter defeated Sam Laskowitz heads-up and took home his second PokerGO Tour championship win this year.

Sam Laskowitz earned $387,500 for his second-place finish, which was the biggest cash of his live tournament career.

Initially, Winter was ranked third in the standings at that moment, but he decided to skip the earlier $15,000 event so that he can take a break and come back in great shape.

Thanks to this massive win, Winter took another step in the PokerGO Tour Player of the Year race this year.

Adrian Mateos Claims the 2026 Poker Masters Purple Jacket

Winter may have emerged victorious in the final tournament, but the reward for the highest rankings in the Poker Masters went to Adrian Mateos, who won the Purple Jacket.

The Spanish poker player finished the tournament series with 451 points from three cashes, totaling $467,700.

His accomplishments included finishing first in Event #5 for $229,500 and second in Event #2.

He should have finished second in order to reach Mateos.

However, he was eliminated in fourth place, taking home $170,500.

Osmin went all in and ran into Winter’s stronger hand.

The ace fell on the board of the game, concluding Ausmus’ run and confirming Mateos as the winner of the series.

Apart from the winnings, Mateos was awarded the PGT Passport in the amount of $25,000 for future tournaments.

He has now about $73.1 million in career live tournament earnings.
